News at the top...not a fan

The News thing at the top didn’t used to be here. I think it was added in 7.18 or 7.19. I get why it was added and I’m sure some people like it but having the option to turn it off completely would be great.
App is good but I don’t like News, I especially don’t like US News but now every time I open the app that is the first thing I see right at the top. Every time political news or “5 bodies found under Florida bridge” is up there I hide it and it tells me I’ll see less of that stuff but still that is all I see. All of the words I have blocked from my timeline have to do with politics, why would I want to what I have blocked be the first thing when I open the app. If you want to show me news about movies, technology, video games, that is fine. But I really don’t want anything to do with politics, finding dead bodies, shootings, celebrities doing dumb stuff, etc.
